Better to Know (Our Team) – Kristen Edition

By now, your pet very likely knows and loves Kristen. Perhaps, you have met her as well. Today, we would like for you to take a moment to get to know her even better.

What’s your favorite part of this job?

I love the variety that each day offers. No two days are ever the same, which totally beats the monotony of every desk job I’ve had. My coworkers are all awesome and hardworking people of enormous compassion and integrity. Plus, who wouldn’t want to get paid to  snuggle kitties and hike dogs in the glorious Colorado outdoors?

When you’re not working, what are some of your favorite things to do?

My life revolves around pets. So when I’m not taking care of our lovely client pets, I love spending time with my own dogs in whatever way the day allows- whether that’s hiking with them, training and competing in agility, or just curling up with them by the fire on a snowy day. I can also be found perusing online photography forums & galleries to gain inspiration for my next pet photography project or client session.

If you could be any type of domesticated animal, what would you be and why?

I hope I’m a house cat in my next life. We take care of a Maine Coon mix and she’s got to be the most content creature I’ve ever met. She runs the house (everyone knows it), and she gets everything she needs and wants. She has staff when her people are out of town and is completely adored for just being who she is. Yeah, I want to be like her. That’d be pretty sweet.

What is a lesser known fact about you?

I’ve been training in the sport of dog agility since age 7 and competing since age 10, placing over 40 titles on dogs I’ve owned.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Righty tighty, lefty loosey.

What are you best known for by your teammates?

My teammates tell me my photos of the pets are awesome. It’s a little hard for me to believe sometimes since I’ve got that photographer-perfectionist thing going on, but I do what I can to take good photos with the limitations of just a smartphone.
